HOSE ASSEMBLY

What a hose assembly is, and how we build one in Singapore

What we need from you to quote an assembly

A hose assembly is a length of hose with fittings crimped onto both ends, finished to a measured length and ready to install. SG Dynamics builds them in Singapore from the Parker Polyflex thermoplastic hose we stock, with matched fittings crimped in-house.

Because every assembly is made to a specification rather than picked off a shelf, we need five things before we can quote or build:

  • Application — hydraulic, water jetting, subsea, or another fluid transfer duty.
  • Maximum working pressure, in bar or PSI. This decides the hose range, which runs from subsea umbilical hose through to ultra high-pressure water jetting hose.
  • Inside diameter, which sets the flow you get and the fittings that will suit.
  • Overall length, measured end to end including the fittings, not hose alone.
  • End connections at each end — thread standard, and whether either end needs an elbow rather than a straight.

If any of the five is unknown, tell us the machine or system the assembly serves and we will work back from it.

What determines the cost of a hose assembly

Published catalogue prices for hydraulic hose assemblies almost always describe a standard rubber assembly rated somewhere around 215 to 330 bar. That is a useful benchmark for general plant work, and it is the wrong benchmark for the assemblies used offshore, subsea and in water jetting, where the hose, the reinforcement and the fittings are in a different class entirely.

What moves the cost of an assembly is:

  1. Pressure rating. Higher working pressure means more reinforcement layers and a heavier fitting, and it is the largest single factor.
  2. Hose construction. Thermoplastic hose built for subsea or ultra high-pressure duty is specified differently from general-purpose rubber.
  3. Inside diameter and length. Both consume more material as they grow.
  4. End connections. Specialised thread standards and elbows cost more than plain straight fittings.
  5. Testing and preparation. An assembly that must be proof-tested or cleaned before commissioning carries that work in its price.

We assemble, test and clean under one roof, so an assembly can be proof-tested before it leaves us and flushed to the cleanliness level your system needs rather than being sent out to a third party. As an authorised Parker Polyflex distributor we also supply Parker GlobalCore hose, so the hose and the fittings are matched rather than mixed.

Send us the pressure, size, length and end connections, and we will quote your assembly
